1) I'm going to Kyrgyzstan in the fall. What should I pack?
Check out the new volunteers section under the forum section for information valuable to new volunteers. There, you can see other questions (and hopefully, answers) from other volunteers and returned volunteers.
You can also find some basic information about the culture and climate of Kyrgyzstan under our Kyrgyzstan section. In addition, check out some of our links for a number of informative websites on Kyrgyzstan.
2) I'm a K-4. How can I get in contact with the people in my group?
You can start by checking out if there are any K-4s on the where are they now? page. You might also want to join the Yahoo Groups listserve or our discussion forum to announce your presence and to allow other people from your group to contact you. More information on how to join the listserve or the National Peace Corps Association can be found in the Members section under how to join.
3) I'm an avid mountain climber and I'm interested in climbing in the Tien Shan range. Can you tell me how to get a visa?
Check out the Kyrgyzstan section for information on traveling to and from Kyrgyzstan. Also be sure to check out the forum section to read discussions about traveling to Kyrgyzstan or to ask your own specific questions. In addition the links section has links to many sites that can provide you additional information.
4) I'm a new volunteer and I have a great idea for a project. How can I submit it to Friends of Kyrgyzstan for consideration?
First read through the official criteria for consideration in the projects section. If your project appears to meet those criteria, please submit your project for consideration via our contact form.
If your project does not meet the criteria, it may still be eligible for inclusion as a supported project rather than a Friends of Kyrgzstan sponsored project.
